about

The first and only official release by BlackForestGreen. This album starts with an effort to appeal to a wider audience in its first two tracks and suddenly goes dark and stays there for the balance of its listen. Clearly an experimental album in its sound, A Sentimental Science reaches for a combination of industrial and pop sensibility while at the same time making an effort to make the songs sound like the words....made completely without the aid of computers or multi-track recorders this version of the album has been given level boost and a slight EQ tweak from its original cassette to cd master copy...the poor sound quality bears a direct relationship to the painstaking layering of tracks via a straight to cassette recording method...full of plenty of mistakes and an abundance of anger, mostly improv noise and a touch of melody, BlackForestGreen portrays the mind set that led to DROWNING SUSAN and the complete freedom of garage style electronic recording....
